Wooden Doors

Wooden doors are commonly used for exterior entrances on residential properties. There is a variety of different locks that can be fitted to wooden doors, usually these are mortice locks, rim locks or nightlatches. We have listed the most common wooden door locks below.

• Euro Profile Sashlock - This lock uses a euro profile cylinder. The difference between a sashlock and a mortice lock is that it incorporates both a deadbolt plus a handle-operated latch.
• Mortice Deadlock - Mortice Deadlock's are generally used in front or entrance doors to homes used in conjunction with a nightlatch. Home Insurance companies usually require one your external locks have either 5 levers or be British Standard 3621.
• Mortice Latch - This type of latch is normally found on internal doors.
• Rim Lock – A rim lock is surface mounted and primarily found on older properties. It can be a sashlock or a dead lock.
• Rim Night Latch – These are normally on the exterior doors of properties.
